The Central High School Jazz Band attended the Loyola University Jazz Festival in New Orleans, where they performed for a panel of professional jazz adjudicators and participated in a day dedicated to jazz education and performance.
The Loyola Jazz Festival brings together school jazz ensembles from across the region to perform on Loyola’s campus. Bands perform prepared pieces for judges who evaluate them on tone, technique, style, and overall performance.
At the conclusion of the festival, the Central High Jazz Band received a Sweepstakes rating, the highest overall honor awarded at the event.
